The historic town centre is protected as an urban monument zone. Bruntál Castle evolved from a 15th-century Gothic fortress to Renaissance residence, then baroque rebuilding in 1766–1769.
Transport
Bruntál sits at the crossroads of the I/11 and I/45 roads, making it accessible by car from Opava, Šumperk, Krnov, and Olomouc. The railway line Ostrava–Olomouc passes through town.
