No food or drinks available at the site. Stock up in Lacanja village before visiting.
Money
Total entry fees to Bonampak are approximately M$400 (2022), including INAH site fee, ejido land fee, and Lacandon taxi/van transport. Cash required as no card facilities exist.
Safety
Bring water, sunscreen, long pants, sturdy shoes, and a hat. Jungle terrain can be challenging.
Transport
No public bus access. Day tours from Palenque are the easiest option. Self-drive requires 4WD or high-clearance vehicle for the final 10 km of unpaved road.
Weather
Hot and humid jungle climate year-round. Dry season (November-April) offers more comfortable conditions.
