Overview
Blagoevgrad is the largest city in the mountainous southwestern corner of Bulgaria, at the foot of the Rila mountain, close to the border with North Macedonia. It serves as a transport and education hub and is one of the gateways to the Rila mountains and the international ski resort Bansko.
