Overview
Beyşehir is a small lakeside city in Turkey's Lakes District, best known for the Eşrefoğlu Mosque—a 1296 AD Seljuk wooden hypostyle mosque inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The town has a compact old quarter of cobbled lanes near the mosque, sits at 1123 m altitude on the outflow of Lake Beyşehir (45 km long by 20 km wide), and makes a quiet, unhurried stop compared to Konya or the Mediterranean resorts.
