Overview
Batopilas is a small village of about 1,200 residents (2010) designated as one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos. Once a prosperous 19th-century silver mining town that made fortunes for American capitalists, it became a virtual ghost town by 1930 after the Mexican Revolution.
