Overview
Banda Neira (Pulau Naira) is the main gateway to the Banda Islands, a remote archipelago in Maluku, Indonesia, famous as the historical center of the global nutmeg trade. The island offers a rare combination of Dutch colonial heritage, including two restored forts, exile houses of Indonesia's founding fathers, and excellent diving at volcanic reef sites.
