Banda Besar is the largest island in the Banda Islands chain, historically known as the Spice Islands for their world monopoly on nutmeg. The island offers Dutch colonial heritage with two forts, pristine white sand beaches, and the chance to walk through nutmeg plantations drying in the sun.

Warungs serve Indonesian food with fresh fish and local dishes. Bring cash as card payment is not available on the island.
