Overview

Bahla is one of Oman's most atmospheric historic towns, dominated by an imposing 14th-century fortress that forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site alongside three other Omani forts. The entire old town is enclosed within 12 km of fortified mud-brick walls, creating one of the best-preserved examples of medieval southern Arabian architecture in the region.
