Aneityum is Vanuatu's southernmost island, a remote volcanic land with twin peaks Mount Indero (852m) and Nanawaréz (804m). With fewer than 1,000 inhabitants and limited infrastructure, it offers an authentic rural Vanuatu experience far from tourist crowds.

Access
Aneityum Airport (AUY) is on Mystery Island, not the main island. Flights from Port Vila connect via Tanna, typically three times weekly.
Accommodation
Wunschstrand is the only accommodation on Aneityum itself. Booking ahead is essential as options are extremely limited.
Population
About 915 inhabitants as of 2009, with a rich history of population fluctuation from over 3,500 in 1850 to just 182 by 1932.
