Overview
Amrum is one of the North Frisian Islands off the German coast, famous for its long sand beaches that make it a summer beach destination. The island is about 12 by 3 km and home to 2,300 islanders, with tourists outnumbering them many fold during peak season.

Germany uses the Euro (€). Credit cards are accepted at some hotels and restaurants but cash is recommended for buses and smaller establishments.
Transport
Ferries from Dagebüll to Wittdün cost €21.70 return for adults in 2024. Buses run every 45 minutes from Wittdün to Norddorf at €2.60 per single or €5.50 for a day ticket.
Weather
Best visited May-September for beach weather. Winter is very quiet with limited services. The island can be windy year-round.
