Overview
Amaliapolis is a small seaside village on the Pagasetic Gulf, about 60 km south of Volos, with its own bay and a small offshore island. It has a gently sloping sandy beach suitable for families, several tavernas and bars (some open year-round), and very few foreign tourists outside August.

No ATMs in Amaliapolis — bring sufficient cash. Nearest ATM is in Almyros.

Watch for sea urchins on beach rocks; mosquitoes are prevalent (pack repellent); F16 aircraft noise on weekday mornings from nearby airbase.
Transport
Car is most practical for reaching Amaliapolis; village is walkable once there. Nearest airports are Volos (limited flights), Athens, or Thessaloniki (2-3 hr drive).
