Asmara is a UNESCO World Heritage city that feels frozen in the Italian colonial era, with the best-preserved Art Deco architecture in Africa. The city sits at 2,300 m altitude, giving it a remarkably pleasant climate that rarely exceeds 30°C, with cool nights year-round.
Keren sits in the picturesque foothills of northern Eritrea as the country's second-largest city and regional capital. Approximately 146,000 people from various tribes and ethnic groups call the city home, with Bilen and Tigre peoples representing over 80 percent of the population.
