Overview
Zittau is a historic trading town in Upper Lusatia positioned directly on the German border with the Czech Republic and Poland. In the Middle Ages, its location on long-distance trading routes made it prosperous, and today it serves as a strategic crossroads at the heart of Europe following the 2004 EU accession of its neighbors.
