Overview
Zhengding is a rural county about 15km north of Shijiazhuang that preserves a rare ancient walled town in Hebei Province. Before Shijiazhuang rose as the regional administrative center in the 20th century, Zhengding served as the key administrative hub of southern Hebei, and its historical significance shows in the concentration of Tang dynasty temples and pagodas within the town walls.
