Overview
Yaiza is a drowsy village of just 1,098 residents (2022) that punches far above its weight as Lanzarote's southern administrative centre and primary gateway to Timanfaya National Park. The village itself is modest—whitewashed houses, a main square with bus stop—but visitors flock here to access one of Europe's most dramatic volcanic landscapes.
