Overview
Wolfenbüttel sits about 15 km south of Braunschweig, overshadowed by its larger neighbor but notable for three reasons: it's home to the Jägermeister distillery and corporate headquarters, hosts the internationally renowned Herzog August Library, and preserves around 1,000 timber-framed buildings—the largest concentration in Germany. The town makes a practical half-day stop if you're already exploring the Brunswick region.
