Overview
Winton is a tiny outback town in Central Queensland with an outsized cultural legacy—it was the original headquarters of Qantas and the birthplace of 'Waltzing Matilda,' Australia's unofficial anthem. Today it's better known as a 'palaeontological paradise' for its rich dinosaur fossil sites, including the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum and the Lark Quarry Dinosaur Trackways 110km southwest.
