Overview
Whitstable is a charming seaside town on the north coast of Kent, famed for its oysters which have been harvested here since Roman times. The town grew as a fishing port in the 18th and 19th centuries and retains its working harbour with a daily fish market (8AM-5PM).

Southeastern trains from London Victoria take about 85-90 minutes to Whitstable. The town is small enough to walk everywhere.
Weather
Being on the English Channel, Whitstable can be windy. Pack layers even in summer and be prepared for occasional sea mist.
