Overview
Wexford is the county town of County Wexford, on Ireland's southeast coast, with a 2022 population of 21,500. It began in the 10th century as the Viking harbour of Veisafjörðr, 'Bay of the Mud Flats', and retains a Viking street pattern with the main street winding south from Selskar Abbey.

Transport
Wexford is 155 km south of Dublin via M11. Five daily trains from Dublin Connolly take 2hr 30min. Expressway Bus 2 runs hourly from Dublin Airport (3hr). Wexford bus station is at the railway station on Redmond Square.
Weather
Maritime climate with mild winters and moderate summers. Best visited May-September for outdoor activities and beaches. Winter brings fewer crowds but shorter daylight hours.
