Overview
Werder (Havel) is a small historic town built on an island in the Havel river, famous for hosting Germany's largest cherry blossom festival, the Baumblütenfest, every late April and early May. The town is part of the Saale-Unstrut wine region—the northernmost of Germany's 13 official wine regions—making it a surprisingly strong wine destination near Berlin.
