Overview
Weimar is a small German town (pop. 65,000) with an outsized cultural legacy: it was home to poets Goethe and Schiller, gave its name to Germany's first democratic constitution (Weimar Republic, 1919-1933), and became one of the two original centers of the Bauhaus architecture movement alongside Dessau.
