Connectivity
Mobile coverage good in town but unreliable on Highway 17 north to White River and south through Lake Superior Provincial Park. Rogers tends to work better than Bell.
Fuel
No 24-hour gas stations in Wawa; most close at 9PM. Circle-K does not sell fuel. Closest all-night station is 90 km north in White River. Monitor fuel gauge carefully.
Seasonal
Many businesses close November through March. Kinniwabi Pines Restaurant open May-October only. Young's General Store closed Nov-March.
Shopping
Two pharmacies, one grocery store, Canadian Tire, hardware store, and thrift stores. Most close by 6PM. Young's General Store is a quirky tourist stop with souvenirs and fudge.
Transport
Wawa lies on the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 17), 250 km from Sault Ste. Marie. Ontario Northland provides bus service. No scheduled flights at Wawa Airport but charter companies available.
