Overview
Wallingford is the best-preserved Saxon town in England, sitting on the River Thames with a medieval stone bridge and castle ruins dating from the 11th century. The town gained fame as the fictional Causton in the TV series Midsomer Murders, and author Agatha Christie lived nearby and is buried in Cholsey.
