Overview
Vilaflor is the highest town on Tenerife at 1,400 m above sea level, sitting on the flanks of El Teide volcano. The town has largely retained its originality because it lies off the beaten tourist track.

Health
Vilaflor has a local health centre (Consultorio Vilaflor) on Avenida Hermano Pedro 24, open Monday-Friday 08:00-15:00.
Money
Spain uses the Euro (€). ATMs are available in larger towns. Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels and restaurants.
Packing
Bring layers for temperature changes, sturdy hiking shoes for steep streets and mountain trails, and sun protection.
Transport
TITSA buses serve Vilaflor with connections to other Tenerife destinations. The TF-21 road is the main route to Teide National Park.
Weather
Best visited May-September. Summers are warm and dry; winters cooler and rainy. At 1,400 m altitude, temperatures can be cooler than coastal areas.
