Overview
Vigevano is a compact Renaissance city in Lombardy's Lomellina plain, famous worldwide as the “shoe capital” since the first industrial shoe factory opened in 1866. Beyond footwear, the city offers one of Italy’s most beautiful Renaissance squares, a fortified castle housing three museums, and a tower that inspired the Filarete tower in Milan’s Castello Sforzesco.
