Whale watching is possible from shore May through October during the Southern Right Whale migration. The SteamRanger heritage trains run up to 140 days per year, connecting Victor Harbor with Goolwa, Port Elliot, and Mt Barker.
Timing
Expect the town to be very crowded during South Australian school holidays (especially summer) and during schoolies season in late November-December when high school graduates celebrate.
