Overview
Vaughan is a vast suburban and rural area in York Region, north of Toronto. Its principal draws are Canada's Wonderland, a major theme park with 17 roller coasters open May to October, and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, devoted exclusively to Canadian art.

Safety
Vaughan is very safe with low crime. Pedestrians and cyclists should watch for vehicles making right turns. Homeless population is small and generally not aggressive.
Shopping
Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre (1 Bass Pro Mills Drive, Concord) has 1.2 million sq ft of retail with major outlet stores. The Promenade (Bathurst and Centre St) offers 290,000 sq ft with over 175 retailers including T&T Supermarket.
Transport
Vaughan is a car-dependent suburban city. Highway 400, 407 ETR, and 427 provide road access. GO Transit has stations at Rutherford and Maple for Toronto connections.
