Overview
Varberg is a Swedish coastal city in Halland, approximately 70 km south of Gothenburg, with a population of around 65,000. It is famous for its sandy beaches, which become extremely crowded every summer with Swedish visitors.

Sweden has excellent mobile coverage with all major providers (Telia, Tele2, Telenor, Tre). WiFi widely available in hotels and public spaces.
Money
Sweden is largely cashless; cards accepted almost everywhere including small purchases. Currency is Swedish Krona (SEK).
Transport
Trains use Öresundståg service between Gothenburg and Copenhagen, tickets must be prebought from station machines. Local buses by Hallandstrafiken run at least every 30 minutes.
Weather
Swedish west coast summers are mild with long daylight hours; beach season peaks in July-August. Winters are cold and quiet with limited facilities open.
