Overview
Vaduz is the capital of Liechtenstein, a micro-state of 160 km² wedged between Switzerland and Austria. With just 5,700 residents, it is technically the only European capital legally classified as a village (lacking Stadtrecht).

Mobile coverage follows Swiss and Austrian networks. WiFi is available at hotels and cafes. Power sockets use Swiss/Jordanian Type J (three-pin) or Europlug Type C.
Language
German is the official language. Swiss German dialect is spoken locally. English is understood at tourist-oriented establishments.
Money
Liechtenstein uses Swiss franc (CHF), though it is not a formal EU member. Most establishments accept both CHF and sometimes euros. ATMs are available in town.
Safety
Vaduz is extremely safe with very low crime rates. General European precautions apply. The castle hill path is slippery in winter.
Transport
No train station in Vaduz itself; use Schaan-Vaduz or Buchs stations. Flixbus connects to major cities. The country is walkable in under an hour.
