Overview
Utria National Natural Park is one of Colombia's most remote and unspoiled protected areas, receiving far fewer visitors than other national parks. The park encompasses over 54,000 hectares of diverse ecosystems including long secluded beaches, mangrove swamps, offshore coral reefs, and inland rainforests.

Before you go
Connectivity
As a remote park with minimal infrastructure, cellular service and internet are likely unavailable or very limited.
Gear
Sturdy hiking boots essential for inland treks. Non-biodegradable sunblock is banned; bring biodegradable alternatives. Pack light for the boat transfer.
Health
Yellow fever and tetanus vaccinations required at least 10 days before entry. Medical insurance is mandatory. Antimalarial precautions may be advisable.
Safety
Remote location means limited emergency services. Armed guerrilla presence in deep jungle areas. Medical evacuation may be difficult and expensive.
Transport
Fly Medellin (EOH) to Nuqui (NQU) with Satena airline, approximately COP 300,000. Then boat transfer to park (50 min). Both flights and boats require advance booking.
Weather
Tropical climate with up to 10,000 mm annual rainfall. February is driest month but rain still common. Expect high humidity year-round.
