No hotels exist; stay at B&Bs, pensions, or vacation rentals in the old town. Camping grounds accept tents, caravans, and camper vans.
Culture
Urk is an orthodox Protestant community. Sundays are completely closed. Conservative dress and behavior are expected. Swearing is deeply offensive.
Food
Fresh fish is the specialty. De Boet is a top-50 Dutch restaurant. Several harbourside restaurants serve seafood.
Transport
Urk is accessed by road from the A6 motorway. The nearest train stations are in Lelystad or Kampen. Within the town, everything is walkable.
