Overview
Uman is a small historic city in Central Ukraine that draws visitors for two distinct reasons: the Rabbi Nachman of Breslov burial site, which attracts thousands of Hasidic Jewish pilgrims during Rosh Hashanah, and Sofiyivka Park, a UNESCO-quality national arboretum considered one of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine. The city offers a quiet alternative to larger Ukrainian destinations with 18th- and 19th-century architecture scattered throughout its compact center.
