Turrialba is the adventure sports capital of Costa Rica's Central Valley, offering some of the best whitewater rafting in Central America on the Pacuare and Pejibaye Rivers. Money
The local currency is Costa Rican Colón (CRC/₡). Prices for the Turrialba Volcano National Park are ₡7000 for foreigners (plus ₡6000 for mandatory guide). Some establishments may accept USD.
Transport
Turrialba is accessible by bus from San José via scenic Route 230. Within town, red metered taxis, informal taxis, and Uber are available. Local buses to surrounding hills depart from one central location near the city centre.
