Overview
Tullow is a small market town of about 5,100 residents (2022) in County Carlow, situated where the N81 crosses the River Slaney. While it lacks castles, town walls, or battlefields, Tullow holds historical significance as the site near where Father John Murphy was captured during the 1798 rebellion of United Irishmen.
