Overview

Tulbagh is a charming historical town in the Cape Winelands, famous for having the largest concentration of National Monuments in one street in South Africa - 32 restored buildings along Church Street. The valley is surrounded by majestic mountains including the 2077m Winterhoek range, which is snow-capped in winter.

No public transport directly to Tulbagh - visitors require private vehicle or arranged transfers from Cape Town (120 km away).

Weather

Mountains are snow-capped in winter (June-August). Spring (September) brings wildflower blooms and fruit tree blossoms. Summers are warm in the valley.
