Safety
Avoid walking alone at night in the historical centre. Hospitals available: Sainte-Anne (+33 4 94 09 90 00) and Chalucet (+33 4 94 22 77 78).
Transport
Toulon-Hyères airport is 18 km east with bus connections (€1.40) to the train station. Hourly trains to Marseille (45 min, €12.60) and regular trains to Nice (1 hr 30 min).
Weather
Hot summers above 30°C, rainy autumns, dry winters. Mistral wind can make winter temperatures feel much colder than actual.
