Overview
Torre Vado is a tiny Ionian Sea hamlet in the Salento region of Apulia, southern Italy, centered on a 16th-century cylindrical watchtower built to defend against Barbary pirates. With fewer than 90 permanent residents but a summer influx exceeding 10,000 visitors—primarily Neapolitan and Swiss tourists—this village transforms into a bustling coastal resort from June to September.
