Overview
Torre del Mar is a relaxed seaside resort on the eastern Costa del Sol that offers a more affordable and less crowded alternative to Marbella or Torremolinos. The town grew from a small fishing village in the 1970s and now attracts Spanish tourists from Madrid, Jaén, and Granada, as well as British and German visitors.

Playa de Torre del Mar is a 3-km Blue Flag beach with lifeguards June-September. Dogs allowed at Playa del Mortero; nudism at Playa de Almayate.

Transport
The bus station (Estación de Autobuses) is the main hub for connections to Málaga, Nerja, and inland towns. No train station exists in Torre del Mar.
