Overview
Thargomindah is a remote outback town in southwest Queensland, locally known as Thargo. The town was planned as a grand settlement in the 1870s with the vision of Australia's pioneers to settle every corner of the continent.

Very limited accommodation - hotel motel and camping. All accommodation can book out during local events like weddings. Free riverside camping with no facilities.
Connectivity
Two payphones in town, one outside the Post Office. Post office open weekdays and Saturday mornings until 11AM.
Food
Meals available at the hotel pub and petrol station. General store and two fuel stations for supplies.
Money
Australian dollars. Cash likely preferred in this remote town. Card acceptance uncertain at smaller establishments.
Transport
No public transport exists. Skytrans flights twice weekly from Brisbane via Cunnamulla. Only the main road is sealed; other roads are dirt and may be hard to navigate.
