It is also mentioned in several Hindu Puranic scriptures, making it a destination where mythology and history intertwine. For backpackers, Tezpur offers a slower pace than major metros, affordable accommodations, and serves as a practical gateway to Arunachal Pradesh through Bhalukpong.
