Overview
Teruel is a compact provincial capital in Aragon with a population of roughly 36,000, notable for its exceptional ensemble of Mudéjar architecture—a UNESCO World Heritage Site encompassing towers, churches, and civic buildings designed in the Moorish-influenced style from the 12th to 17th centuries. The city stakes a further claim to fame as the site where Spain's first dinosaur was discovered, now memorialized in the expansive Dinópolis paleontological museum and theme park on the outskirts.

Connectivity
Spain uses Type F (Schuko) power sockets at 230 V. Wi-Fi is widely available in hotels and cafes; local SIM data from Spanish carriers (Movistar, Vodafone, Orange) provides coverage throughout the city.
Culture
Teruel's identity revolves around its Mudéjar architectural heritage (UNESCO-listed), the Los Amantes medieval legend, and local festivals including La Vaquilla del Ángel (July) and Bodas de Isabel de Segura (February reenactment). Modest dress is appropriate when visiting churches.
Money
Currency is the euro (EUR). ATMs are available in the city centre. Budget accommodation in the historic core typically runs €50–€90 per night; the Parador de Teruel (2 km out) offers rooms from €90 with free Wi-Fi.
Transport
Teruel has no direct rail link to Madrid and remains the only peninsular provincial capital without one. Valencia (2h) and Zaragoza (2h30m by bus) are the main overland gateways. A taxi (Taxi Teruel, +34 978 102 040) is the only option for getting to outlying sites like Dinópolis.
