Temecula is Southern California's answer to Napa Valley, with over 30 wineries clustered in the Temecula Valley. The city is famous for its annual Balloon and Wine Festival and offers a slower-paced wine country experience than Northern California.

One of California's safest cities, but avoid walking alone at night near Old Town Pujol Street apartments and the Rancho California/Ynez intersection.

Temecula has no reliable public transportation. Rent a car or use the Grapeline Wine Country Shuttle for winery visits.

Hot summers (90-97°F June-August) and mild winters (40-65°F). Virtually no snow year-round.
