Overview
Temagami is a small wilderness town (population 800) in Northern Ontario where old-growth red and white pine stands frame a landscape of lakes and silence. The community sits on the northwest shore of Lake Temagami and serves as the staging point for cottage vacations and multi-day canoe trips into Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park.

Highway 11 (Trans-Canada) passes through Temagami; Ontario Northland buses stop at the gas station. A vehicle is essential for accessing provincial parks and trailheads.

Summer (June-August) is warm with highs in the mid-20s C; shoulder seasons can be cool. Winter brings heavy snow and challenging driving conditions.
