Overview
Taytay is a low-key municipality on Palawan's east coast that offers a budget-friendly counterpoint to tourist-heavy El Nido. The main draw is Fort Santa Isabel, a 1667 Spanish colonial fortress that is one of the oldest in the Philippines, plus access to Taytay Bay's islands, Irrawaddy dolphin tours at Malampaya Sound, and kayak trips on Lake Manguao.
