Overview
Tarbert (An Tairbeart in Gaelic, meaning 'carry across') is a village of 1150 people at a historic portage point on Loch Fyne. Here, small boats were portaged between bodies of water, and today the village serves as the main gateway between the Scottish mainland and the Kintyre peninsula.
