Overview
Taal Volcano is one of the Philippines' most accessible active volcanoes, often described as the world's smallest volcano or 'a lake within a volcano within a lake.' It is the country's only Decade Volcano—one of a group scientists consider particularly dangerous due to proximity to cities—and the second most active volcano in the Philippines after Mount Mayon, with 34 recorded eruptions since 1572.
