Overview

Sutri is a small hilltop town in Lazio, about 50 km north of Rome, that rewards visitors with remarkably preserved Etruscan and Roman antiquities. The town sits on a narrow hill of tufo (tuff) rock on the northern side of the Via Cassia, while the main archaeological sights lie south of this ancient road.
