Overview
Sumedang is a compact Sundanese city in the Parahyangan mountain region of Western Java, roughly 40 km east of provincial capital Bandung. The city is best known for its signature deep-fried tofu, tahu Sumedang or tahu bungkeng, which draws food pilgrims from across Java.

Transport
Medal Sekarwangi buses run 12 times daily between Jakarta and Sumedang (Rp50,000 one-way). Many Bandung-Cirebon buses also stop in Sumedang.
