Overview
Sulmona is a secluded and somewhat overlooked small city in Abruzzo, surrounded by imposing mountains at about 400 metres above sea level, yet it doesn't feel like it has 25,000 inhabitants. One of the oldest towns in Abruzzo, it features many buildings from the Middle Ages or earlier and is famous as the native town of the Roman poet Ovid.
