Overview
Sturt National Park offers a rare glimpse into the remote Australian outback with historic pastoral sites, ancient granite boulder formations, and access to the northwestern most point of New South Wales. The park is home to part of the world's longest dingo fence, stretching thousands of kilometres.

Before you go
Connectivity
No mobile coverage exists within the park. Telstra is the only carrier with any signal in Tibooburra. No WiFi is available.
Money
Daily park fee of $8 is paid at coin-operated machines—most don't accept cards, so carry Australian dollars in cash.
Packing
Bring ample water, an esky (cooler), sun protection, and emergency supplies. A 4WD vehicle is recommended for unpaved sections beyond Tibooburra.
Safety
Bring at least 5 water bottles per person in summer. No mobile coverage in the park—only Telstra works in Tibooburra. Carry a personal locator beacon for emergencies.
Transport
Access is by car only—4 hours north from Broken Hill via the Silver City Highway (B79). No scheduled flights serve the area. Night driving is extremely dangerous and should be avoided.
Weather
Always hot, with extreme summer heat. Nights drop to single digits year-round. June-July are slightly milder but still very hot by temperate standards.
